Businesses in Johns Creek, GA have just a few days to renew business tax certificates before getting hit with penalties.

While this article does spell out what you need to do to renew your business license in Johns Creek, it doesn’t tell you about all the time and headache you can save by not worrying about renewals and penalties in the first place. Our services can handle renewals on your behalf.

Salon is the new saloon

After two new salon businesses requested to be able to serve liquor to customers, Glenview, IL trustees approved and instructed village staff to create a new liquor license for salons.

After a lengthy debate, the majority of trustees supported charging $2,000 for each such license, requiring food be served with the alcohol, and placing no limit on the number of drinks served to each customer.

It’s exciting to see new business owners thinking out of the box to give customers an even better experience. While serving alcohol is a heavily regulated practice, obtaining a license for it is attainable! Let our services help you out. We can help figure out which licenses you need for your location, file them for you, and handle all renewals.

City acts hospitably towards business owners by indirectly cutting business license fee

After a failed attempt to repeal the hospitality tax just a month ago, Aiken, SC has announced that $700,000 from the tax is being put back into the city’s growing economy in the form of business license fee reduction.

The hospitality tax is also expected to put money back in the pockets of business owners. The city’s website says $160,000 from the tax will be given back to business owners by cutting the cost of their business licenses.

If you are opening a business in Aiken or expanding an existing business there, it just got a little more affordable. You can get more details on what’s required in the city with tools like our Business License Compliance Packages, filing and renewals assistance, and professional consulting.

Subscription canceled for solicitors in AL

Three men were arrested in Alabama for going to door-to-door, selling magazines without a business license.

“There are certain rules they have to go by,” Captain Brad Mason said. “They were made aware of these. They didn’t comply with the rules and so that’s why they were arrested the second day they were soliciting.”

If someone plans to be involved in door-to-door solicitations, they need to be aware of the strict requirements that come with it. It may seem simple to start this work, but you first may need to go through things like background checks and fingerprinting. Every time police get involved in a business activity – like they do for second-hand dealing – there can be very tough guidelines.

Obtaining a business license is as easy as 1, 2, click!

Washoe County, NV is leading the march into the 21st century and has enabled business owners to apply for, pay for, and renew their business licenses online.

“This will make it so anyone can apply for a license or a permit 24 hours a day, pay online. They won’t have to come into the office; they won’t have to mail things in.”

Good for them, but it’s too bad their online system doesn’t determine your exact licensing needs for you or manage your renewals.

Business Licesnes Q&A: Sharing Personal Information on Application

Question:
My main question is: why, when filling out a business license application, does a jurisdiction need the officers home address, birth date, social security # and/or driver’s license #?  Seems pointless.  And is there a way to deny this information?

Answer from Amanda Gannon :
The answer varies based on the authority and we can usually determine requirements based on experience. It also depends on the license type. Take state tax registrations: some authorities will reject applications that don’t have the requested personal information. In the case of online registrations, the personal information may be a required field so you will not be able to proceed without entering something. Generally speaking, heavily regulated filings like contractor licenses, vehicle dealer licenses, secondhand dealer licenses and collection agency licenses (to name a few) will absolutely require personal information

It is sometimes possible to get around these requirements and if we don’t already have the information in our notes, we can contact the authority to confirm exactly what can and what cannot be left blank. For online filings, you are sometimes able to enter all 9’s or all 0’s instead of an actual SSN and still have a license issued. Or fields for certain information may not be required at all. For home address, we can almost always use the business address. If there is a parent entity, you can sometimes enter that company’s name, FEIN and date of formation in lieu of officer information and still receive a license. In the case of large corporations, county and local licensing authorities will sometimes make an exception about personal information, since the questions on those license applications are generally geared more toward small businesses. Authorities understand that in the case of large entities with many levels of leadership, the people filling out the forms are most likely not those who will be listed on the application, and it would be virtually impossible to list personal information for all officers.

To deal with this issue, some customers request that we confirm with authorities when personal information is absolutely required in order for the application to yield a license. We also have customers that provide personal information for just one officer and we use that on all applications (that is not always an option across various licenses). I should note that these exceptions generally would apply to corporations, since officers don’t always have ownership. In the case LLCs or partnerships, where the officers are owners by definition, authorities are more likely to required personal information about the members/partners.

F.C. Business License Renewals Now Past Due

A message for all Falls Church City business owners: If you have not renewed your business license for 2016, as of March 1, you are operating your business in violation of State and City Code.

We frown when we see articles like this, because it means local business owners are not doing all they can to easily manage their business license renewals and filings.
If avoiding penalties and late fees is something you enjoy doing, then let us handle the filings and renewals for your business. We stay on top of it so you don’t have to.

Change is in the air for business license laws in MO

Holden, MO city council is reviewing changes in their business license ordinances after protests in August demanded revisions.

“It’s what we think will serve the city best,” Nipko said, adding, “It was a bigger job than we thought it was going to be.”

The revised ordinance states that transient vendors operating during the Chamber-sponsored Holden Fair and rodeos are exempt from obtaining a business license and that the council will establish fees and license requirements for council-approved events, such as the tractor pull.

This Alabama town is embracing the future of transportation. Now Uber drivers need to embrace the news laws that come with the growing popularity and use of these ride-sharing companies. Fortunately for them, Business Licenses, LLC has expanded its service offering to specifically cover Uber driving.

With great changes and revisions in business license laws, comes great confusion. You can always count on Business Licenses, LLC to keep you up to date on all regulations and to inform you which licenses & permits you need for your exact location.

Uber gets the green light in Huntsville, AL

Raiser, an Uber affiliate, has been approved by city council to operate and own a business license. This comes weeks after the council officially allowed ride-sharing companies such as Uber and Lyft to conduct business within Huntsville city limits.

“This takes our transportation system into the 21st Century,” Mayor Tommy Battle has said, adding, “It’s something our citizens have asked for.”

This Alabama town is embracing the future of transportation. Now Uber drivers need to embrace the news laws that come with the growing popularity and use of these ride-sharing companies. Fortunately for them, Business Licenses, LLC has expanded its service offering to specifically cover Uber driving.

Uber drivers can request a basic compliance package and have an expert examine their unique license requirements and send them all of the necessary documents to file. Or they can request the full licensing service, where everything involved in the process – from exact license determination to filing on their behalf and dealing with the authorities – will get taken care of by the Business Licenses, LLC team.

Our tools will enable potential Uber drivers to never get stuck at a red light.

The fast, the furious, and the licensed

There’s finally a set price that ride-sharing app drivers will need to pay for a business license when operating in Dewey Beach, DE. A recent vote by officials will require drivers with Uber, Lyft, and the like, to purchase and own a business license.

Transportation network companies are the same as any taxi service, and they should be treated as such, said Commissioner Dale Cooke… “It’s awesome technology, but that fact should not preclude them conforming to rules for basic safety and community unity.”

As these ride-sharing companies grow larger, popular, and more profitable, officials will continue to make laws to treat these ride-sharing app companies as legitimate businesses. The rapid expansion of these regulations across America is what compelled Business Licenses, LLC to expand its service offering to specifically cover Uber driving.

An Uber driver can request a basic compliance package for $49 which includes a licensing expert examining their unique license requirements. With this package, we send all of the requirements, applications, and instructions for the customer to obtain their licenses. They can then complete the forms, submit them to their authorities, and obtain their licenses directly from them.

Alternatively, they can opt for the full licensing service for just $125 and our staff will determine their unique requirements, prepare all the paperwork on their behalf, and then submit their applications and verify with their authorities that they are being processed correctly. We’re on the job and our work isn’t done until the authorities process their license applications.

Our services will enable these companies to keep driving forward.
